Lamentation - /lamənˈteɪʃ(ə)n/

LAMENTATION

"lamentation
/lamənˈteɪʃ(ə)n/
noun
  1. the passionate expression of grief or sorrow; weeping."

What is this?

This is the title of my documentary - "LAMENTATION - /lamənˈteɪʃ(ə)n/". LAMENTATION is a documentary looking into the mental illness - Depersonalisation Disorder. Depersonalisation is said to affect around 1.2 million people in the UK, many likely not even aware that their symptoms all leads towards DPDR.

So, what does Lamentation mean?

Lamentation, as written above, is a noun that simply describes grief, sadness. Some sufferers of DPDR most commonly experience sadness due to this illness - Depersonalisation strips them of emotion, leaving them to feel mournful, or grief towards their earlier life, where they experienced all five senses and lived life in technicolour - depersonalisation can be seen as going from a world of brightness to black and white.
